A Story of Vision and Support: Hon. Dzifa Gomashie Celebrates Padiki’s Global Success
The Special Assistant to the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Richardson Commey Fio, has dismissed claims that the late Guinness World Record holder Padiki did not receive support from Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, insisting the Minister recognised and backed the artist during her lifetime.
Responding to comments made by entertainment pundit DerrickManny EveryWhere during a radio appearance on Kessben FM, Mr. Commey Fio described the assertion as false, stating that there was clear evidence of the Minister’s support for the late artist.
According to him, Padiki paid a courtesy call on Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie after successfully earning her Guinness World Record certificate. During the visit, the Minister warmly received and congratulated her, expressing delight over the achievement and assuring her
the Ministry’s continued support and guidance.
Mr. Commey Fio added that the Minister’s support went beyond words. Following the Guinness World Record achievement, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie selected Padiki to represent Ghana at the maiden edition of the ECOWAS Arts and Culture Festival (ECOFEST) held in Dakar, Senegal, in December 2025.
He explained that the festival brought together artists from across the African continent, and Padiki was given the rare opportunity to showcase Ghana’s creative talent on the regional stage through the Minister’s nomination.
The Special Assistant maintained that these actions clearly demonstrated the Minister’s commitment to supporting the late artist and promoting Ghanaian creatives internationally, rejecting the claims made during the Kessben FM discussion.
