Barosky Has Overstayed UK Visitor Visa for Two Years – Caleb Nii Boye

Ghanaian musician Barosky has reportedly been living in the United Kingdom after overstaying a visitor’s visa he obtained about two years ago, according to entertainment journalist Caleb Nii Boye.

Speaking on Kessben FM/TV’s Kessben Entertainment with host Kojo Preko Dankwa, Caleb Nii Boye provided an account of a recent meeting involving Barosky and Ghana’s High Commission in the UK.

According to him, Barosky initially travelled to the UK about two years ago on a visitor’s visa, reportedly in connection with his music activities. However, after the visa period, he did not return to Ghana.

Caleb Nii Boye explained that Barosky has consequently remained in the UK beyond the validity of his visitor status.

He further noted that a visitor’s visa does not ordinarily permit a person to work in the UK, meaning Barosky’s immigration situation has become an important part of discussions surrounding his possible return to Ghana.

The matter was discussed during a meeting with the Ghanaian High Commission, whose objective was to understand Barosky’s circumstances and explore how his return could be facilitated.

Caleb Nii Boye said that although Barosky initially appeared reluctant to return, he later indicated during the meeting that he would like to come back to Ghana.

However, Barosky reportedly made it clear that he does not want the process rushed or turned into a major public spectacle. Instead, he wants the arrangements to be handled gradually.

Following the meeting, the High Commissioner reportedly handed the matter over to the Consular Department, which is expected to communicate directly with Barosky and his team.

According to Caleb Nii Boye, the Consular Department will wait for Barosky and his representatives to provide a preferred date for his return. Once the date is agreed upon, arrangements can be made for a flight ticket and other necessary assistance to get him back to Accra.

His family is also expected to be contacted once the date is confirmed so they can prepare to welcome him home.

Caleb Nii Boye said the High Commissioner’s involvement is motivated by concern for Barosky and his recognition of him as a creative person.

He expressed optimism that Barosky’s team would soon communicate a date, potentially within the week or the following week, after which the High Commission could proceed with the necessary arrangements.
