Broadcast Journalist Kojo Preko Dankwa Criticizes Pastors Over Failed Election Prophecies
Kojo Preko Dankwah, host of Kessben Maakye on Kessben TV/FM, has criticized pastors who make election-related prophecies, saying such actions are damaging the credibility of Christianity.
Speaking on the aftermath of the NPP presidential primaries, Dankwah singled out Pastor Bernard Eshun, who had predicted a win for Kennedy Agyapong. Contrary to the prophecy, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the winner.
“You are disgracing our religion and allowing people to make mockery of Christianity,” Dankwah said, adding that repeated failed prophecies weaken the Church’s credibility and invite public ridicule.
He warned that bringing the pulpit into partisan politics through prophetic declarations misleads followers and undermines the true message of Christianity. The broadcaster urged pastors to exercise restraint and preserve the integrity of the faith rather than attempting to forecast electoral outcomes, which ultimately rest with voters.
