Broadcast journalist Captain Smart has announced that he has completed 43 out of the 50 boreholes he pledged to construct for communities in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.

Speaking at Gomoa Ndeum, Captain Smart disclosed that the borehole project is progressing steadily, with only seven more boreholes left to fulfill his commitment to residents.

According to him, each borehole costs GH¢65,000 to construct, representing a significant personal investment aimed at improving access to clean and safe drinking water for communities in the district.

Captain Smart stated that the initiative was born out of his desire to support deprived communities facing challenges in accessing potable water. He noted that providing clean water remains essential to improving public health and enhancing the living conditions of residents.

“I have completed 43 of the 50 boreholes I promised Gomoa West. Each borehole costs me GH¢65,000,” he said while addressing residents at Gomoa Ndeum.

The project has been welcomed by members of the beneficiary communities, as access to clean water is expected to reduce the burden on residents who previously travelled long distances in search of water.
