Coach Didi Dramani Vows to Build Sustainable Football Philosophy at Hearts of Oak
Newly appointed Accra Hearts of Oak Head Coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has outlined his vision to create a sustainable and consistent football philosophy that connects both the senior team and the club’s youth system.
Speaking at his official unveiling on Monday, July 30, the two-time Ghana Premier League-winning coach emphasized his commitment to preserving the club’s rich heritage while steering it towards long-term success.
“I intend to align with the board’s vision and chart a clear, consistent path forward. Our focus will be on implementing robust technical programmes that nurture individual talent and build a cohesive team,” Dramani stated.
Acknowledging the existing foundation at the club, Dramani pledged to work with his technical staff to enhance and reinforce current structures. He highlighted the need for a clear developmental pathway that links the club’s youth teams directly to the senior squad.
“Hearts of Oak’s system—from Oaks FC, Royal Oaks, and Auroras to the first team—must be seamlessly integrated. Achieving this demands direction, consistency, and a sustainable footballing approach,” he explained.
He revealed that the process of consolidating the club’s structures has already begun and promised fans a renewed drive toward stability and excellence.
Expressing gratitude to the club’s board for the freedom to choose his technical team, Dramani also urged fans and stakeholders to offer their full support as he works to re-establish a winning culture.
Preparations are already underway for upcoming fixtures, including a high-stakes President’s Cup clash against rivals Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium, and an international tournament in Nigeria.
The 59-year-old former assistant coach of the Black Stars and former head coach of the Black Galaxies signed a two-year contract with the Phobians. His primary mandate is to revive the club’s fortunes after a challenging campaign.
The unveiling ceremony also introduced his technical team: First Assistant Coach Abdulai Gazale, Goalkeepers’ Trainer Najahu Issah, Video Analyst Peter Adu Boafo, and Team Manager Henry Mantey.
Coach Dramani replaces Aboubakar Ouattara, who has been reassigned as a Special Advisor to the Hearts of Oak board. The club concluded the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season in fourth place.
