NPP Has Put Itself To Shame – Kwadwo Yeboah Hits Party Over Alleged Vetting Bribe

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Organizer for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Kwadwo Yeboah, has criticised the party over allegations surrounding the return of money allegedly linked to the vetting of a judicial nominees.

Making his assertion on Kessben Maakye show in Accra, Kwadwo Yeboah revealed, the controversy could have been avoided if the NPP had chosen what he described as a “deep thinker” to lead its members in Parliament.
“If NPP had chosen a deep thinker as their leader in Parliament, they wouldn’t have exposed themselves in that manner,” he said.

He suggested that the money was returned probably because there had been a deduction from the amount initially paid or agreed upon.
Yeboah also pointed to a memo reportedly attached to the returned money, arguing that it raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the payment.
“Based on her memo attached to the returned money, it appears that they were not ready to collect any money by vetting their fellow MPs but agreed to take money for vetting the judges,” he alleged.

He has therefore called on the appropriate investigative institution to probe the matter and take the necessary action if wrongdoing is established.
“I bid the necessary investigative institution to investigate and take the necessary action,” he stated.

Yeboah further argued that although the controversy may have been intended to disgrace the sitting government, it had instead damaged the image of the NPP.
“She thought she was disgracing the sitting government, but has rather put her party, NPP, in shame,” he added.

The allegations require verification and any conclusions regarding wrongdoing should follow a proper investigation by the relevant authorities.
