Nungua Traditional Authority Summons Daddy Lumba’s Family Head Over Alleged Private Burial

The Office of the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse of the GaDangme State has issued a formal summons to the family head of the late Ghanaian highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, over reports concerning his alleged burial at a private residence in East Legon, Accra.

In a letter dated March 10, 2026, the spiritual leadership of the Nungua Traditional Area directed Mr. Victor Kofi Owusu, also known as Abusuapanyin Tupac and family head of the late musician, to appear before the spiritual overlord at the Nungua Palace.

The summons was issued by Wor Lumor Konor Nuumo Borketey Laweh Tsuru, the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse and Spiritual Overlord of the GaDangme State. According to the letter, Mr. Owusu is required to present himself at the palace on Thursday, March 13, 2026, at 11:30 am.

The traditional authority indicated that the invitation follows growing public concerns and reports surrounding the alleged burial of the late musician at his private residence located in East Legon. The matter, the letter states, has stirred strong sentiments among sections of the GaDangme community.

The Nungua Traditional Authority noted that the issue has been brought before the spiritual leadership for clarification and traditional review, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that customary protocols are respected.

As the recognized family head (Abusuapanyin) of the late Charles Kojo Fosu, Mr. Owusu has been asked to provide explanations regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged burial. The traditional council believes his presence will help address concerns and guide the process in line with customary practices.

The letter further stresses that cooperation in the matter is necessary to maintain harmony, uphold respect for tradition, and ensure a peaceful resolution.

The Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse urged the recipient to treat the summons with urgency and accord it the respect it deserves.
