A group of youth in the Oti Region has declared its strong support for Hon. John Boadu, describing him as the most experienced and strategic leader capable of leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in both presidential and parliamentary elections.

The endorsement was made at a charged gathering attended by young people from various constituencies across the region. The youth said their decision followed a careful assessment of Ghana’s current political landscape and the qualities they believe the NPP needs to regain power.

According to them, Ghana’s political environment has become increasingly competitive and requires a leader who is experienced, understands the grassroots and has a proven record of organising and winning elections.

The youth pointed to John Boadu’s previous roles as NPP National Organiser and General Secretary, arguing that his experience within the party gives him a strong understanding of its structures and challenges across the country.

“Hon. John Boadu is not a novice in our party’s history. He has served as our National Organiser and later as General Secretary. He knows every polling station, every constituency, and every region in this country. He is the only person who can let us win the presidential and parliamentary seats in the country,” one of the youth leaders said to loud cheers from the gathering.

The group argued that the NPP, at this critical stage, does not need experimentation but rather experience, loyalty and a deep understanding of party structures.

They cited Boadu’s tenure as General Secretary, during which they said his organisational skills, calm demeanour and ability to bring different factions together contributed to the party’s two consecutive electoral victories.

The youth also stressed that winning parliamentary seats, particularly in newly created regions such as Oti, requires a leader who understands the challenges of orphan constituencies and knows how to resource, motivate and strengthen the party’s grassroots.

“Look at Oti Region. We are a new region with huge potential, but we need someone who will not neglect us. Hon. John Boadu has been here with us; he listens to the youth, he understands our struggle for jobs and development. He has the blueprint to make the NPP attractive again to the youth and to floating voters,” another spokesperson said.

The youth further appealed to NPP members across all levels—from polling station executives to national executives—to unite behind John Boadu’s candidature.

They maintained that unity would be critical if the party is to break the eight-year cycle and return to government for a third consecutive term.

The group insisted that its endorsement was not motivated by personal interests but by what they described as a collective desire to see the NPP regain power and continue its development agenda.

“We are not doing this for ourselves. We are doing it for the future of this party and for Ghana. If we want to win the presidency and increase our numbers in Parliament, especially reclaiming seats we lost, then the answer is Hon. John Boadu. His experience is our best bet,” they declared.

The endorsement from the Oti Region youth is expected to strengthen John Boadu’s campaign as activity and support continue to build ahead of the NPP’s internal contests.
