Vida Adutwumwaa Challenges Maddy Maz Over Stonebwoy Song Theft Claim, Demands Proof or Legal Action
Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, Head of Public Relations at Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group, has challenged musician Maddy Maz to provide evidence to support her allegation that Stonebwoy stole her song or be prepared to face legal action.
In a video shared on her social media page on July 20, 2026, Vida expressed concern over what she described as a growing pattern where some individuals and groups allegedly create controversies around Stonebwoy whenever he has a major event.
According to her, such claims create unnecessary distractions for the dancehall artiste and his team, adding that they have become frustrated with what she described as negative and untrue reports.
“There are some lesser demons in this country. Every time there is an upcoming Stonebwoy event, these people spread fake news. At this point, we are tired of these negative and untrue stories. We wanted to use someone as a scapegoat, and someone has fallen into the trap,” she said.
Vida explained that as the Public Relations Head of Burniton Music Group, failing to respond to such allegations could create the impression that the controversies are part of a publicity strategy to promote Stonebwoy’s projects.
She stressed that Stonebwoy’s success has been built on talent, quality, and consistency rather than publicity stunts.
“If we do not address it, someone will sit back and claim those fake stories and reports are part of our PR strategy to promote our shows. But when it comes to Stonebwoy, our quality speaks for itself. We don’t do stunts here, and that is why we want to set the record straight on this particular story,” Vida noted.
Vida questioned the basis of Maddy Maz’s allegation and insisted that she could not make claims capable of damaging Stonebwoy’s reputation without providing evidence.
She demanded that Maddy Maz show proof of any communication or interaction she had with Stonebwoy regarding the song she claims was taken.
“Where exactly do you go way back with Stonebwoy? You see what you have started; we will deal with it squarely. You cannot just get up and tarnish the image of an artiste like Stonebwoy and go scot-free. The song you claim you sent to Stonebwoy, I want to know through what means you sent that track. Have you ever had Stonebwoy’s contact in any way?” she questioned.
She further challenged Maddy Maz to provide evidence of correspondence between them, warning that the matter could become a legal issue if she failed to substantiate her accusations.
“I am daring you, let me know where you met Stonebwoy. Bring the evidence to prove that you ever communicated with Stonebwoy to the point where you sent your work to him for review. Maddy Maz, we are waiting for the proof of your correspondence because, as I speak to you now, you need to gather your evidence. You will face the law for this,” Vida added.
Background
Fast-rising musician Maddy Maz, during an interview with Nana Romeo, alleged that she sent one of her songs to Stonebwoy, after which she claimed the dancehall star copied elements of the song and featured Jamaican artiste Spice on a similar track.
She alleged that because Stonebwoy considered her a less established artiste, he took inspiration from her work and used it for his own project featuring the international artiste.
