Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka burial date reports circulating on social media and other platforms have been dismissed by the leader of Kristo Asafo Mission, Israel Kwadwo Akofena Safo Kantanka.

Akofena Safo Kantanka has urged members of the church and the general public to disregard any information suggesting that a date has been fixed for the burial of the founder of Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

Speaking at a press conference, he stated that neither the Kristo Asafo Mission nor the Safo family had officially announced any burial date.

“I urge the members of Kristo Asafo Mission to disregard any date and information circulating,” he said.

According to him, the family has not authorised anyone to release funeral arrangements for the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

“The Asante Kotoko family seated here has not released any date,” he stressed.

Mr Akofena explained that the presence of the traditional head of the family, uncles, the church’s council of elders, regional council chairmen, secretaries, and leaders of various church groups showed that the official process was still ongoing.

He noted that these recognised family and church authorities have the mandate to oversee important decisions, including funeral arrangements and leadership matters within Kristo Asafo Mission.

Reaffirming his authority as the Kankanta family head and leader of Kristo Asafo Mission, Akofena Safo Kantanka insisted that claims about a confirmed burial date were false.

“I stand on my authority as the Kankanta family head and the leader of Kristo Asafo to say throw away any date you have heard about. There’s no truth in it,” he stated.

He also dismissed reports that the burial would take place on July 30, saying: “There’ll be no burial held on the 30th.”

Mr Kantanka called on members of Kristo Asafo Mission and the public to wait for an official announcement from the Safo family and the church before accepting any information about the funeral arrangements.
