Coach Karim Zito part ways with Asante Kotoko after FA Cup defeat against Aduana FC
Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito has parted ways with Asante Kotoko after the MTN FA Cup defeat against Aduana FC in Kumasi.
According to report, Management of the club had a meeting with him and asked him to resign from his position with immediate effect.
The Porcupine Warriors have been eliminated from the FA Cup Round of 16 by the Ogya lads on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Kotoko have struggled for consistency this season with just two wins in 2026.
“Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey has resigned from his role as Head Coach of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club with immediate effect,” the club announced.
“Management has accepted the resignation, expressed its appreciation to the coach for his services and wished him the best in his future endeavours.”
Coach Zito won four trophies for the Porcupines since joining them last season.
However, he now leaves the club with no domestic cup competition and eight points behind leaders Medeama in the Ghana Premier League table.
Asante Kotoko will host Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ghana Premier League Super clash.
