The Acting Executive Secretary of Ghana’s Creative Arts Agency, Mr. Gideon Aryeequaye, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Toke Benson Awoyinka, on the sidelines of the prestigious Kuenyehia Awards.

Mr. Aryeequaye was accompanied by Prof. Elikem Nutifafa Kuenyehia, founder of the Kuenyehia Prize for Contemporary Art, and Mariam Kaleem Agyeman-Buahin, a brand, marketing, and fintech consultant.

Their discussions focused on deepening collaboration between their respective agencies, with the goal of strengthening the creative sector and positioning Africa as a global hub for creative talent. The meeting underscored the increasing recognition of the creative industry’s vital role in driving economic and cultural development across the continent.

As a gesture of goodwill, Mr. Aryeequaye was presented with a “dondo” — a traditional Nigerian talking drum, often referred to as the “king’s drum.”
