Florence Obinim Reportedly Seeks GH¢2m and Properties in Divorce Claim Against Bishop Obinim
Ghanaian gospel musician Florence Obinim has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, following their public separation after 24 years of marriage.
As part of the reported divorce proceedings, Florence is said to be seeking GH¢2 million in damages, alongside several properties and other financial benefits as compensation for the years she spent as his legally married wife.
Her reported demands include a mansion at Trassaco Valley in East Legon, Accra, and another mansion in Barcelona, Spain. She is also said to be seeking ownership of a 21-unit block of shops in Tema.
Other properties reportedly listed in her claims include the Abroso Guest House in Accra and a multi-storey building said to accommodate residential apartments, guest-house facilities and church facilities.
In addition to the properties, Florence is reportedly demanding two luxury vehicles and a weekly allowance of GH¢10,000 to cover her upkeep and personal expenses. She is also said to be seeking any additional properties that the court may deem appropriate.
The reported demands were disclosed by Bishop Obinim during a Sunday service at his International God’s Way Church.
Reacting to the claims, the bishop is reported to have expressed anger and questioned the demands made by his estranged wife.
Obinim reportedly declared his readiness to contest the matter, insisting that he would not give her any money.
He further alleged that some individuals were influencing Florence and claimed that their involvement would lead to her doom.
The reported divorce claims and the bishop’s reaction have attracted attention, particularly given the couple’s long marriage and the substantial financial and property demands said to be involved in the proceedings.
