The helicopter’s crew members, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, were also killed in the crash.

In his statement, the Chief of Staff expressed the government’s deep sorrow over the loss and announced that national flags will fly at half-mast across the country in honour of the departed.

“This is a dark day for Ghana. We have lost distinguished leaders and gallant officers who served their nation with dedication,” Mr. Debrah said.

The cause of the crash is yet to be officially disclosed, but investigations are expected to commence immediately to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

As the nation grieves, tributes have begun pouring in from political leaders, civil society, and ordinary citizens, remembering the deceased for their service, patriotism, and commitment to Ghana’s progress.
