Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has defended his outspoken approach to public commentary, insisting that his priority is delivering tangible development rather than seeking public approval.

Speaking in an interview on United Showbiz , A-Plus explained that he intentionally chose a different communication style, believing that being overly reserved would not help him achieve his goals.

“I’ve had it in mind that maybe if I present myself as a gentleman, I might not be able to achieve anything. I want to be different to see if that will help,” he stated.

He highlighted ongoing development projects in his constituency, noting that several roads that had been left unattended for about 28 years are now under reconstruction.

According to him, his work goes beyond constituency development, adding that he has also been actively engaging international partners to attract investment into Ghana.

He revealed that after the Easter festivities, he travelled to China to meet potential investors and later proceeded to the United Kingdom to brief President John Dramani Mahama on plans to develop an artificial waterfall project.

“Right after the carnival, I went straight to China to bring investors into our economy. I also went to the UK to meet the president and brief him on the artificial waterfall we want to build. I want the president to commission it next year,” he said.

A-Plus further disclosed that he is exploring solar energy solutions for the project, emphasizing his commitment to productivity over leisure activities.

“We cannot run the place on Akosombo alone, so I am pushing for solar. While others were watching football, I was chasing solar. I’m not waiting for someone to blow my trumpet,” he added.
