Jospong Group of Companies Joins Nation in Mourning the Tragic Loss of Dr. Omane Boamah and Hon. Murtala Muhammed

The Jospong Group of Companies has joined the rest of the nation in mourning the untimely death of Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister, Hon. Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Samuel Aboagye, a former Parliamentary Candidate; and Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anale, Flying Officer Manaen (Amaning) Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernerst Addo Mansah who tragically lost their lives in a military helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.

In a solemn statement issued on behalf of the Group, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, expressed profound sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Government of Ghana, and the entire nation.

This is a heartbreaking loss to their families, to the Government and to the nation they served with honour and distinction. Ghana has lost true patriots.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of these patriotic sons of the land, who served Ghana with integrity, passion, and dedication,” Dr. Agyepong stated. “On behalf of the entire Jospong Group, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dr. Omane Boamah and Hon. Murtala Muhammed were widely respected for their unwavering commitment to duty and their instrumental roles in shaping policy and national progress. Their deaths, alongside six other government officials and security personnel, have plunged the country into mourning.

The Jospong Group of Companies, a key player in Ghana’s private sector with interests in sanitation, waste management, ICT, finance, and more, recognised the invaluable contributions of the deceased to national growth and stability.

“As we mourn, let us also celebrate their legacy of service and sacrifice. May their souls rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.

The company has pledged its continued support to national efforts in commemorating the lives and works of the fallen leaders.
