Kessben Media Distances Itself from Viral Video, Launches Internal Investigation
Kessben Media has issued an official statement distancing itself from a viral video circulating on social media that allegedly involves one of its staff members in a sexually compromising situation.
In a statement released by management, the media organization said it does not condone the actions of the staff member involved or the circulation of the video in any form. The company stressed that it dissociates its brand, associates, agents, employees and followers from the conduct captured in the footage.
“Kessben Media is committed to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, respect, ethics, culture and the values of our profession,” the statement said, adding that the company remains committed to operating in accordance with the laws of Ghana and its internal code of ethics.
As part of its initial response, the company has launched an internal investigation to establish the full facts surrounding the incident. Management said the findings of the inquiry will determine its next course of action.
Kessben Media assured the public that it is determined to restore confidence in the organization and will not shield anyone found to have been complicit in the matter.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the staff member at the centre of the controversy has been asked to stay off duty and cooperate fully with the inquiry. The company also stated that the individual will receive counselling, rehabilitation and legal assistance where necessary to help address the emotional impact of the incident.
The media house further appealed to the public to refrain from sharing or distributing the video, citing the sensitive nature of the material, cybersecurity concerns and Ghana’s laws governing the possession and circulation of explicit content.
Management also urged members of the media to avoid linking the Kessben Media brand to the incident, noting that the alleged event occurred at a different time and asking the public to allow due process to take its course.
The statement concluded by thanking the public for its understanding and cooperation as the company investigates the matter.
