Nana Poku Praises Ato Forson’s Budget, Says NDC Has Consolidated Economic Gains
The General Secretary of the Traders Advocacy Group Ghana, Nana Poku, has commended the government’s budget and economic management, describing the measures introduced as a sign of consolidation and progress.
Speaking on Kesseben Tv “The Punch” programme hosted by Kojo Preko Dankwa, Nana Poku said a careful overview of the budget presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson shows that the government has taken steps to strengthen the economy and improve stability.
According to him, the government has been able to consolidate its gains, particularly in areas aimed at protecting the economy and maintaining stability in the exchange rate.
“If you take the overview of the budget, you can see that the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has done well. The NDC government has consolidated its views and taken steps to protect the economy,” he said.
Nana Poku noted that although challenges may arise, the measures implemented provide confidence that the economy can continue to grow if the government maintains its current direction.
He praised the government’s efforts in stabilising the cedi and addressing what he described as smaller but important economic issues.
“If nothing happens that will bring problems to the economy, I think they will keep running and running better with the stability of the dollar and some of the little things they have done. In fact, they have done well,” he added.
The traders’ representative further stated that with a clear vision and proper implementation of policies, the government has the potential to advance the economy significantly.
“If I should give the total overview, I will say they have consolidated their gains, and with proper vision, they can advance very well,” Nana Poku concluded.
