NIA Commences Ghana Card Issuance for Children Aged 6–14 on October 6
The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the commencement of the issuance of Ghana Cards to children aged between 6 and 14 years, beginning Monday, October 6, 2025.
In a statement, the Authority indicated that the first phase of the nationwide exercise will be conducted in 56 districts and will cover children who have already completed their registration. The cards will be distributed at the same schools where the initial registration took place.
The NIA emphasized that each child must be physically present and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the collection process. Parents and guardians are also required to present the registration receipt (Form A) that was issued on the day of registration.
According to the Authority, all backlogs of unprinted Ghana Cards have been cleared to facilitate a smooth distribution process. The remaining districts are expected to be covered in subsequent phases of the exercise.
The NIA further noted that additional announcements will be made soon regarding new registration schedules for children within the same age bracket who were unable to register earlier.
The Authority appealed to parents and guardians to cooperate fully with officials to ensure an orderly and efficient card issuance process nationwide.
