NPP National Elections Committee Inaugurated to Superintend Election of National Officers

NPP National Elections Committee has officially been inaugurated by the Acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Butey, to oversee preparations for the party’s National Conference and the election of its national officers.

The inauguration of the committee is a significant milestone in the NPP’s internal electoral calendar, as it begins the process of organising elections that will determine the party’s next national leadership.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Acting National Chairman, the committee has been mandated to plan, organise, and superintend over all processes leading to the National Conference for the election of National Officers of the Party, as well as the conduct of the elections.

The Acting National Chairman expressed confidence that the committee will ensure a transparent, credible, and well-coordinated electoral process in line with the party’s constitution and democratic values.

The committee will be chaired by Hon. Frederick Opare-Ansah, while Mr Evans Nimako will serve as the Secretary.

Supporting the chairman is Hon. Abena Osei Asare, who has been appointed Vice Chair of the committee.

Full Membership of the NPP National Elections Committee

The committee is made up of experienced party officials and leading members, including:

• Mr Evans Nimako – Secretary
• Madam Oboshie Sai Cofie – Member
• Hon. Anthony Abayifa Karbo – Member
• Hon. Salam Ama Appianin Damata – Member
• Mr Eric Ntori – Member
• Mr Frank Davies, Esq. – Member
• Ashanti Regional Chairman – Member (to assume office upon the conclusion of the Ashanti Regional Elections).

The inclusion of the Ashanti Regional Chairman on the committee is subject to the completion of the party’s ongoing Ashanti Regional Elections, after which the elected regional chairman will officially assume his place on the committee.

Committee to Oversee National Conference and Elections

The National Elections Committee is expected to play a central role in ensuring that every stage of the party’s electoral process is conducted efficiently and fairly.

Its responsibilities include planning and coordinating all activities leading to the National Conference, supervising the nomination and election processes where applicable, and ensuring that the election of national officers is conducted in accordance with the constitution and regulations of the New Patriotic Party.

The committee will also be expected to provide guidance on electoral procedures and ensure that all stakeholders comply with the party’s established rules throughout the electoral process.

NPP Expresses Confidence in Committee

The New Patriotic Party congratulated all members appointed to the committee and expressed confidence in their ability to execute their mandate successfully.

The party said it believes the committee members possess the experience, competence, and commitment needed to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, fairness, transparency, and professionalism in the best interest of the New Patriotic Party.

According to the statement, the committee’s work will be crucial in delivering a credible, transparent, and peaceful electoral process that will strengthen the party’s internal democracy and prepare it for future political activities.
