Please Wait till Next Year – Lil Win Appeals to Ghanaians Over Private Videos
Ghanaian Kumawood actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has appealed to anyone planning to release private videos to hold on until next year.
The actor appealed for renewed conversations on social media over the circulation of alleged private videos involving some personalities.
Lil Win explained that private videos that surface online often generate intense public interest and can quickly dominate conversations across social media platforms. He noted that such developments could make it difficult for other entertainment-related activities and projects to attract the attention they deserve.
According to the actor, he is particularly concerned about the possible impact of another viral private video on the promotion of his upcoming movie, A Journey to Africa. He said considerable resources had already been committed to the project and appealed to anyone who may be in possession of private footage to delay its release until next year.
His request was essentially for people to allow him and his team to have their moment in promoting the movie without another controversy taking over social media.
Lil Win also used the opportunity to encourage people who have recently found themselves at the centre of private-video controversies. Among those he mentioned was Kumawood actor Oteele, whose alleged private videos have recently sparked widespread online discussion.
The actor urged Oteele and others affected by similar incidents to remain strong and not allow the intense public attention and commentary to break them down.
The comments come against the backdrop of growing concerns about the circulation of private material on social media. Once such content is uploaded or shared, it can spread rapidly, reaching large audiences within a short period and subjecting the individuals involved to widespread public scrutiny.
Lil Win’s appeal, although linked to the promotion of A Journey to Africa, has also drawn attention to the broader consequences of sharing private material without the consent of the people involved.
He therefore called for patience, asking those who may be holding such footage to wait until next year before releasing anything, as he seeks to keep public attention focused on his upcoming movie.
