Stonebwoy Gives Final Response to Sarkodie Amid Ongoing Dispute

Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy has delivered what he describes as his final response to rapper Sarkodie following their ongoing public disagreement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The BHIM Nation president made it clear that he does not consider a personal relationship with Sarkodie necessary, particularly in view of the issues that have recently emerged between them.

In a lengthy post on X, Stonebwoy directly addressed the rapper, stating:

“I don’t need to fuck with you. I’m straight ‘pun intended.’”

Stonebwoy also challenged Sarkodie to name the people he claims have disrespected him and with whom the dancehall artiste is allegedly associated.

He wrote: “Sarkodie, feel free to kindly mention the names of the people who have disrespected you that I hang with.”

According to Stonebwoy, he does not understand what Sarkodie believes he owes him, especially considering that Sarkodie himself has indicated that he reaches out to him.

Stonebwoy wrote: “What could you possibly owe me? When you’re the one who calls me as you have clearly indicated… (no man is an island we all need each other though).”

He further explained that if the circumstances had been reversed, he would not have contacted Sarkodie without first acknowledging the situation and offering a genuine apology.

Addressing the issue of collaborations and performances, Stonebwoy insisted that he has never had a problem sharing a stage with Sarkodie or any other artiste.

He said the issue of who initiates an invitation has never been a concern for him, stressing that artistes should be able to work together regardless of who makes the first move.

Stonebwoy recalled an incident involving the most recent BHIM Festival, saying Sarkodie’s team had contacted his manager, Chief Stylzz, to indicate that they wanted to attend the event.

According to him, he had no objection to their presence.

He stated: “Doing shows together has never been a problem irrespective of who called. My last BHIMFEST at the stadium, Angel called Chief that y’all wanted to come through; I didn’t disagree.”

The reference was to Angel Town, Sarkodie’s manager, who Stonebwoy said contacted Chief Stylzz regarding their intended appearance at the festival.

Stonebwoy also pushed back against suggestions that he has failed to acknowledge or celebrate Sarkodie’s achievements.

He maintained that he has publicly recognised and celebrated Sarkodie on several occasions, suggesting that his actions over the years do not support any claim that he has deliberately sought to undermine the rapper.

He further accused Sarkodie of misrepresenting or twisting his comments, arguing that available video footage supports the position he has taken in the ongoing disagreement.

For Stonebwoy, the matter goes beyond their individual relationship and comes down to the need for people involved in disagreements to accept responsibility for their actions.

He therefore emphasised the importance of facts, accountability and responsibility in dealing with the issues between them.

Despite continuing to respond to Sarkodie’s comments, Stonebwoy indicated that he was now prepared to step away from the public exchange.

He said he would rather concentrate on what he described as real-life issues instead of continuing the dispute on social media.

Stonebwoy ended his post with the hashtag GhanaMusicMatters, signalling his broader concerns about issues within Ghana’s music industry.

Stonebwoy’s latest statement follows comments made by Sarkodie, who recently took to social media to respond to several allegations made against him by the dancehall artiste.

The disagreement has since moved beyond the two artistes, with Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Town, also becoming involved in the public discussion.
