I Bring Guest Artistes On Stage to Celebrate Music, Not Compete: Stonebwoy

Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy has addressed claims that he feels pressured to feature several guest artistes during his international concerts, explaining that his decision is driven by the desire to create unforgettable experiences for fans.

Speaking on the Sent Back Podcast, the award-winning musician dismissed suggestions that inviting other performers on stage is motivated by competition among artistes.

According to Stonebwoy, every artiste who organises an event aims to deliver the best possible show, and growth in the music industry happens gradually through consistent effort and dedication.

“Regardless, if an artist is doing any event, they mean to come give the best of the best. You also have to grow into that level because people build gradually,” he said.

The BHIM Nation president, who is scheduled to host BHIM Festival in London in August 2026, also explained why he intentionally avoids staging his major events in March, a period when many Ghanaian musicians usually organise concerts as part of Ghana’s Independence celebrations.

Stonebwoy said spreading major music events across different months gives fans more opportunities to attend shows and prevents artistes from competing for the same audience.

“It’s also intentional not to wait until March because there will be a lot happening then. Imagine if all of us decided to host our events in March. It would be difficult because we can’t all fit into one period. So let’s spread things out and keep the fans excited throughout the year. That’s what we’re about,” he stated.

The singer further clarified that bringing guest performers on stage is simply a creative choice aimed at adding excitement and variety to his concerts, rather than an indication that he cannot carry an entire show alone.

Stonebwoy insisted that he is capable of performing for several hours by himself but chooses to involve other artistes because he wants to give fans more memorable moments.

“Believe me, we have plans to bring excitement and surprises, but to me, there’s no pressure. If there’s any pressure at all, it’s simply the pressure to satisfy the masses. As for performing alone, my catalogue alone can keep me on stage for five or even six hours for my core people, so to bring another people it just means we want the excitement to go up,” he added.

The musician’s comments come as he continues to expand his global presence through international performances and major events, with BHIM Festival London expected to be one of the highlights of his 2026 calendar.
