Let’s Use Eid to Unite and Build Ghana – Mahama Urges Citizens
Former President John Dramani Mahama is calling on Ghanaians to use the celebration of Eid ul Adha as an opportunity to strengthen national unity and renew their commitment to building a better Ghana.
In a message shared through his official channels, Mahama highlighted the values of brotherhood, cooperation, and sacrifice that define the Muslim festival. He encouraged all citizens, regardless of faith, to embrace these principles in their daily efforts to contribute to the country’s development.
“Let’s use this celebration to strengthen our bonds of brotherhood and the commitment to work together to build the Ghana we want,” Mahama stated.
The statement, issued by the Presidency’s communication office, comes at a time when the country is facing significant social and economic challenges. Mahama emphasized that addressing these issues requires unity and a sense of shared responsibility.
Eid ul Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Mahama used this symbolic act to encourage Ghanaians to make personal and collective sacrifices for the nation’s progress.
