The National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, on Saturday, August 10, visited Obogu in the Asante Akyem South Municipality with other party executives to comfort families who lost loved ones in a road accident.

Sixteen members of the Saviour Church of Ghana died on Monday, July 28, when their vehicle collided with a fuel tanker while returning from the church’s annual event. Four others are still in the hospital but are said to be recovering.

During the visit, the NDC donated GH₵10,000 to the church and GH₵50,000 to the affected families. Mr. Nketiah expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and encouraged the families to stay strong, noting that some had lost multiple relatives.

He conveyed condolences from former President John Mahama and the NDC, urging the community to remain united and faithful during this difficult time.
