Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), on Thursday, met with personalities from Ghana’s comedy industry to discuss the role of the arts in promoting cultural identity and national development.

Comedians Lekzy DC, Foster Romanus, and Albert Bondah participated in the engagement, sharing views on how comedy can address social and cultural issues.

Hon. Sam George underscored the importance of promoting Ghanaian cultural values through education, with a particular emphasis on prioritising local languages in schools across the Greater Accra Region. According to him, cultural identity is best reinforced through practical steps such as language teaching rather than symbolic gestures.

The comedians expressed their appreciation to the Minister for creating a platform for dialogue and invited him to their upcoming comedy special, FBI, scheduled for September 27, 2025.

In response, Hon. Sam George pledged his support for the creative industry and encouraged comedians to continue using their craft to educate, inspire, and entertain while upholding national values.
