ECG to Undertake Planned Maintenance on May 6 & 7; Several Areas to Experience Power Outages
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The power distributor says the exercise is part of efforts to improve service delivery and will require temporary power outages in selected areas across multiple regions.
Affected Areas on Tuesday, May 6, 2025:
Ashanti Region (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
Power supply will be interrupted in Anwomaso, Bebre, Fumesua, Domeabra, Apromase, Krapa, Ejisu, Kokobra, and surrounding communities.
Greater Accra Region (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
Dodowa town, Forest Hotel, Mensah Bar, Saasabi, Bawaleshi, Oyibi, Teshie Ultimate, Teshie First Junction, Yomo Specs, and nearby areas will experience outages.
Tema Region (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM):
Affected areas include Man Trucks, Compu Ghana, Ataa Adama, Latter Day Saints, Methodist Junction, Kpoo Keke, Best Western Premier Hotel, and adjoining locations.
Affected Areas on Wednesday, May 7, 2025:
Eastern Region (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
Communities to be affected include Adonteng, Konkonuru town, Agyeinanti, Ayim, Adinkrabi, Brekusu, Refresh Factory, Regimanuel Estate, Marteyman, and nearby areas.
Volta Region (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM):
Sogakope Township, Adidome, parts of Akatsi, sections of Keta, and surrounding communities will also face temporary disruptions.
Tema Region (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM):
Power will be interrupted in Lebanon Zone 3, Zenu, Atadeka, Ahorlukope, Sokpoekope, Afrikape, Mataheko, and adjacent communities.
The ECG has expressed regret over any inconvenience the outages may cause and encourages residents and businesses in the affected areas to plan accordingly. The company noted that the maintenance work is necessary to ensure improved and reliable electricity supply in the long term.
