ECG to Undertake Scheduled Power Maintenance in Volta and Greater Accra Regions on July 10

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise on Thursday, July 10, 2025, affecting selected areas in the Volta and Greater Accra Regions.

 

According to a public notice issued on Saturday, July 5, the planned activity forms part of ECG’s ongoing efforts to enhance power supply reliability and improve overall service delivery. The maintenance is set to begin at 9:00 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM on the same day.

 

In the Volta Region, the exercise will affect Hodzo and surrounding communities.

 

In the Greater Accra Region, a broader range of areas will experience a temporary power outage. These include:

 

Palace Mall

 

Airport Hills Estate

 

Mayfair Estate

 

Sowutuom

 

Israel

 

Race Course

 

Glefe

 

Wiaboman

 

Achimota Market

 

Achimota Old Station and surrounding communities.

 

 

ECG expressed regret for any inconvenience the power interruption may cause, stating, “The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform its cherished customers that the interruption in power supply is necessary to allow our engineers to carry out maintenance works on our transmission infrastructure. We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise.”

 

Customers are advised to take precautionary measures and treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period.

 

The ECG reaffirmed its commitment to providing improved and stable power as part of its infrastructure upgrade and modernization program. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated via the company’s official website (www.ecg.com.gh) and verified social media platforms.
