Ghana and Morocco Sign Landmark Visa-Free Travel Agreement
Ghanaian citizens will now be able to travel to Morocco without the need for traditional visas, following a groundbreaking agreement between the two nations.
Under the new policy, Ghanaians can obtain travel authorization online within 24 hours—eliminating the need for embassy appointments or lengthy visa processes. This development was confirmed by Ghanaian Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, during his two-day working visit to Morocco, where he met with the country’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Nasser Bourita.
The agreement also includes plans to increase the number of direct flights between the two countries, aiming to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges. According to Hon. Ablakwa, the bilateral visa waiver is expected to strengthen ties and promote greater connectivity between Ghana and Morocco.
“African borders should not divide us—they must serve as bridges of unity,” Ablakwa emphasized, highlighting the importance of diplomacy that delivers tangible benefits to citizens.
He concluded his announcement by extending warm Eid wishes to the Muslim community.
