The management team of Ghanaian musician King Paluta has written a petition to the board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), seeking explanations for the snub of their song “Makoma” in the recently announced nominees.

According to the petition, “Makoma” was submitted for consideration in four categories: Most Popular Song, Record of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year. However, the song was not nominated in any of these categories, leaving the team “surprised and disappointed.”

The petition states that “Makoma” is “Ghana’s most popular song released the year under review, generating the most excitement amongst music lovers till date.” The team believes that the song meets all the moral and ethical requirements of the TGMA board and is therefore seeking a convincing reason for its exclusion.

The management team of King Paluta has expressed confidence in the competence of the TGMA board and is willing to engage with them to reconsider the song’s nomination.

The snub of “Makoma” has sparked debate among music fans, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment and surprise. The TGMA board has yet to respond to the petition.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards is one of the most prestigious music awards in Ghana, recognizing and celebrating outstanding achievements in the music industry.
