Mahama Embarks on State Visit to Singapore to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Singapore for a three-day State Visit designed to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in priority areas, including trade, education, science and innovation, agribusiness, digital transformation, and urban development.

As part of his official engagements, President Mahama will hold high-level discussions with Singapore’s President, H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and Prime Minister, The Hon. Lawrence Wong. He will also deliver the keynote address at the 8th Africa–Singapore Business Forum (ASBF) and headline a Ghana-focused Investment and Business Forum, bringing together government leaders and private investors to explore new avenues of collaboration.

On arrival, President Mahama underscored the shared outlook between Ghana and Singapore. “Our nations share a forward-looking vision anchored in innovation, skills, and enterprise. This visit will translate those values into practical cooperation—channeling Singaporean investment and expertise into Ghana’s priority sectors while opening opportunities for Ghanaian businesses across Southeast Asia,” he noted.

Accompanying the President is a high-level delegation comprising Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs; Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide and Advisor to the President; Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare (MP), Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry; and Haruna Iddrisu (MP), Minister for Education.

Also on the delegation are Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Minister of State for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson; Simon Madjie, Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre; and Francis Kwarteng Arthur, Chief Executive of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.
