Mayorkun Praises Ghanaians for Supporting his Career, Teases new Album with Ghanaian Collaborations
Nigerian Afrobeats star Mayorkun has expressed deep appreciation to Ghanaians for their unwavering support throughout his career. In an interview on Hitz FM with Doreen Avio, the “Certified Loner” hitmaker revealed how much Ghana feels like a second home to him.
“I feel exactly like I’m in Lagos anytime I’m in Ghana. Ghanaians have given me some of my biggest collaborations and hits,” Mayorkun said.
As part of the exciting revelations during the interview, Mayorkun announced that he is featuring top Ghanaian acts King Promise and rising star Olivetheboy on his upcoming album, which is set for release on June 6, 2025. The 12-track project will include two collaborations with Ghanaian artists on separate songs.
“King Promise and Olivetheboy are on two of my songs on the album,” he confirmed.
In addition to new music, Mayorkun also shared plans to launch his record label, where he aims to sign and nurture new talents.
Furthermore, he revealed that he will be one of the headline performers at the upcoming Pent Hall Week celebration at the University of Ghana, Legon.
“I expect a great experience and to have fun myself because it’s been a while since I did a school tour,” Mayorkun added.
With a new album on the way, a label in the works, and a live performance lined up in Ghana, it’s clear that Mayorkun’s bond with his Ghanaian fans continues to grow stronger.
