President Mahama Terminates Appointment of Acting Executive Director of National Commission on Culture
In a letter dated February 28, 2025, the President of Ghana has terminated the appointment of the Acting Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture, effective immediately. The termination was announced by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President.
According to the letter, the Acting Executive Director has been directed to hand over duties to Wakefield Wisdom Ackuaku, who will act as the Executive Director of the Commission. The President expressed gratitude for the terminated official’s service to the nation.

The National Commission on Culture is responsible for promoting and preserving Ghanaian culture, as outlined in the National Commission on Culture Law of 1990. The Commission’s functions include initiating policies and programs for the dissemination and propagation of ideas for national pride, solidarity, and consciousness.
