St. Louis SHS Receives Accolades for Exceptional Athletic Achievements
Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has congratulated St. Louis Senior High School (SHS) for their impressive win of trophies for three consecutive years at the Super Zonals. The school’s management and athletic team were received by Dr. Amoakohene, who praised their dedication, discipline, and hard work.
St. Louis SHS has indeed made Ashanti proud, and their consistency and determination have earned them a reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the athletic scene. With their stellar performance, they have the potential to represent Ghana in national games and even on global stages like the Olympics.
To support the team’s endeavors, Dr. Amoakohene made a cash donation to help with their training and welfare. He emphasized the importance of investing in young talents, citing it as key to building a stronger future for sports in Ghana.
Dr. Amoakohene also urged the school management to make special provisions for extra classes to help student-athletes catch up academically, as they dedicate precious time to training and competitions. “Education and sports must go hand in hand,” he stressed.
However, Dr. Amoakohene expressed serious concern over the rising tension and violent clashes between schools after Interco and Super Zonals. He assured the team that the police are actively investigating recent clashes, and schools found culpable will face strict sanctions. Some arrests have already been made, and anyone found engaging in these acts will face the full force of the law.
Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that sports should be a platform for healthy competition, teamwork, and national pride, not violence. “Let’s keep the spirit of sportsmanship alive and protect the integrity of school competitions,” he urged.
Once again, congratulations to St. Louis SHS for their exceptional performance! Keep shining, keep training, and the sky will be your starting point.
