Our source in the Football Federation of Honduras has confirmed that the match will be played in Washington before the Black Stars relocate to their training camp in Rhode Island.

This encounter will serve as Ghana’s last warm-up fixture ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

The Black Stars have already completed four international friendlies as part of their preparations. These included a 5-1 defeat to Austria in Vienna on March 27, a narrow 2-1 loss to Germany in Stuttgart on March 30, a 2-0 defeat to Mexico on May 22 involving home-based players, and a 1-1 draw against Wales in Cardiff on June 2.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has strongly rejected allegations that he or the football governing body interferes in the selection of players for Ghana’s national teams, particularly the senior men’s team, Black Stars.

In a recent appearance on The Delay Show, Okraku declared: “When it comes to the work of the coaches, nobody interferes in their job.” The comment was made in direct response to persistent accusations of external influence on team selections.

In an interview on The Delay Show, Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku expressed strong confidence in the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

President Kurt believes that Ghana has a good team and are aiming to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“You can never rule out any football nation, Ghana inclusive,” Okraku said. “I have seen bad teams win big tournaments and good teams lose. We have a good team, and I want to win the World Cup. That is why we are doing everything possible.”

The remarks come after Ghana qualified for the expanded tournament and named its 26-man squad under coach Carlos Queiroz, despite recent friendly losses and criticism over selections such as Baba Rahman.
