Entertainment pundit MC Yaa Yeboah has stated that Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale is unlikely to use his own money to stage a concert at London’s O2 Arena, arguing that the artiste has consistently maintained that international shows should be financed by promoters or investors.

Speaking during a discussion with entertainment journalist Vida Adutwumwaa on August 4, 2026, MC Yaa Yeboah questioned why some fans continue to expect the award-winning musician to independently book one of the world’s most famous entertainment venues.

According to her, discussions surrounding a Shatta Wale O2 Arena Concert ignore the musician’s long-held stance on financing events outside Ghana.

“The reason is, he has said it himself that he doesn’t see the need in doing those things. It doesn’t make sense to him to organize a show abroad. Even with music videos, he wouldn’t shoot his music video outside the country. I don’t know if he would one day change his mind on that because he has said it several times,” she said.

MC Yaa Yeboah explained that Shatta Wale has repeatedly indicated that investing his personal funds into organising international concerts is not among his priorities, preferring to perform when events are backed by promoters or private investors.

She stressed that the dancehall artiste is not against performing at prestigious venues abroad but believes the responsibility of organising and financing such events should rest with event promoters.

“One thing about Shatta is that, if the show has to do with someone who’s organising the event, he will mix himself up with the person. When he gets an investor who would tell him to book O2 for his show, he would gladly do it but for him to use his own money to book O2 Arena for his show, he will never do it,” she added.
