Akosua Serwaa Sues Abusuapanin Tupac, Sir Alex Over Daddy Lumba Marriage Claims

Published

on

Akosua Serwaa, widow of late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has commenced legal action against Victor Kofi Owusu, also known as Abusuapanin Tupac, and Alex Kofi Boadi Ampong, popularly known as Sir Alex, over alleged defamatory statements concerning her marriage to the late musician.

The suit, filed at the Kumasi High Court, revolves around claims challenging the authenticity of a German marriage certificate presented by Akosua Serwaa and allegations that she was not legally married to Daddy Lumba.

According to the statement of claim, Akosua Serwaa wants the court to declare the alleged statements false and defamatory. She is also asking for an order preventing the defendants from repeating or publishing similar claims in the future.

She is further seeking an order directing the defendants to publicly retract the statements and issue an unqualified apology. In addition, she is demanding GH¢3 million in general and aggravated damages, or another amount the court may determine.

The lawsuit traces part of the controversy to an appearance by Victor Kofi Owusu on UTV’s United Showbiz programme on November 29, 2025.

The discussion reportedly touched on Akosua Serwaa’s relationship with Daddy Lumba and the German marriage certificate she relies on as evidence of their marriage.

Akosua Serwaa alleges that comments made during the programme suggested that the marriage certificate was fake. She maintains that the allegation was false and defamatory because it questioned both her marital status and the authenticity of an official German civil-status document.

She has also denied claims that the certificate was manufactured, forged or fabricated in Ashanti New Town or elsewhere in Kumasi.

According to the suit, similar allegations allegedly resurfaced in publications on June 8 and July 5, 2026.

Akosua Serwaa argues that the continued circulation of the claims has affected her reputation by casting doubt on her marriage to Daddy Lumba, her position as his lawful widow, and her honesty and integrity.

She further contends that the allegations reached a wider audience through television and social media. She says the United Showbiz had the potential to reach viewers across Ghana, while material posted on TikTok could easily be recorded, shared and reposted.

The plaintiff also claims that the controversy resulted in abusive comments from some social media users, who allegedly repeated the disputed allegations as though they had been established as fact.

Akosua Serwaa says the allegations have also affected her professional reputation as a nurse based in Germany.

She argues that accusations suggesting she forged or relied on a fraudulent German marriage certificate could negatively affect how others perceive her honesty, integrity and trustworthiness, which she considers important qualities in her profession.

She further maintains that the allegations have affected her personal dignity by creating uncertainty over whether she was genuinely married to Daddy Lumba.

The dispute, according to the claim, also has implications for her status as the late musician’s widow and her involvement in matters connected to his estate and family affairs.

Among the reliefs being sought, Akosua Serwaa wants the Kumasi High Court to declare the alleged statements false and defamatory.

She is also seeking a permanent injunction restraining the defendants, their representatives or anyone acting on their behalf from publishing or repeating allegations that her German marriage certificate is fake, forged or fabricated.

The proposed injunction would also cover claims that the certificate was produced in Ashanti New Town, Kumasi, as well as allegations that Akosua Serwaa was never legally married to Daddy Lumba.

She is asking that Victor Kofi Owusu be ordered to publish a retraction and apology on UTV and other television, online and social-media platforms where the disputed claims were allegedly circulated, subject to the court’s directions.

For Alex Kofi Boadi Ampong, she is seeking a similar order requiring the publication of a retraction and apology on TikTok and any other social-media platforms allegedly used to disseminate the statements.

Akosua Serwaa is ultimately seeking GH¢3 million in general and aggravated damages for defamation, or any other amount the court considers appropriate.

The allegations in the lawsuit are the plaintiff’s claims and have yet to be determined by the court.

John Dumelo Says Becoming an MP Is Not a Guaranteed Path to Wealth

Published

on

Ayawaso West Wuogon Member of Parliament John  Dumelo has sought to correct the impression that entering Parliament automatically comes with significant financial rewards.

The actor-turned-politician made the clarification while responding to a question on X about the financial benefits and privileges associated with serving as a Member of Parliament.

According to Dumelo, individuals pursue political office for different reasons, but he does not consider parliamentary service a particularly lucrative venture.

“People have different reasons for wanting to go to Parliament… but money no dey inside like that. You can, however, use your position as an MP as leverage for certain things,” he said.

Dumelo explained that while MPs may have access to opportunities because of the positions they occupy, the parliamentary office itself should not be viewed as a guaranteed avenue for personal wealth.

His comments come amid public discussions about the financial benefits, privileges and opportunities available to elected lawmakers.

Dumelo, who moved from a successful acting career into active politics, has been serving as the MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon after making the transition from entertainment into public service.

Tiwa Savage Reveals Why Cheating Has Never Been a Deal Breaker for Her

Published

on

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her views on infidelity, explaining why cheating has never been enough reason for her to end a relationship.

The award-winning singer made the revelation while speaking during a podcast discussion about relationships, love and the experiences that have shaped her approach to dating.

According to Tiwa Savage, she has never walked away from a relationship simply because her partner was unfaithful. She also stressed that she has never cheated on a partner herself.

The singer explained that, for her, relationships are influenced by a range of emotions and circumstances, and cheating alone has never reached the level of a deal breaker.

She disclosed that there have been instances where she chose to leave a relationship, but those decisions were based on other serious concerns rather than infidelity.

Among the issues she mentioned were stealing and drug use, which she considers more serious reasons for reconsidering a relationship.

Tiwa Savage further revealed that she has sometimes walked away from partners over such issues, only for them to return later to apologise. In some cases, she admitted, she accepted their apologies and allowed them back into her life.

The singer recalled that some men had indirectly caused problems in her relationships, leading her to leave temporarily before they later returned to apologise.

However, she maintained that cheating itself has never been sufficient reason for her to permanently end a relationship.

Tiwa Savage also shared that she had previously experienced a situation where a partner cheated on her. Although she forgave him, the relationship eventually ended for a different reason, reinforcing her position that infidelity is not, in her view, an automatic reason for a breakup.

She emphasised that she has never been unfaithful in her relationships and has also never ended a relationship simply because a man cheated on her.

Tiwa Savage’s remarks highlight her personal approach to relationships, particularly her view that infidelity is not necessarily enough to make her walk away from a partner.

Kelvyn Boy Applauds Stonebwoy’s Wembley Achievement

Published

on

Ghanaian Afrobeats musician Kelvyn Boy has joined the growing list of artistes celebrating Stonebwoy following the dancehall star’s landmark performance at the OVO Arena Wembley in London.

Kelvyn Boy expressed his admiration for Stonebwoy during his performance at the National Youth Forum 2026 on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, where he used the platform to acknowledge the achievement of his fellow Ghanaian musician.

Rather than focusing solely on his own performance, Kelvyn Boy took a moment to recognise Stonebwoy’s success on one of the world’s prominent entertainment stages.

“I’m using this opportunity to congratulate Stonebwoy for his London show,” he said.

Stonebwoy recently made history by headlining the OVO Arena Wembley with his BHIM Festival, marking a significant moment for Ghanaian music on the international stage.

The achievement has attracted attention from fans and fellow musicians, particularly as Ghanaian artistes continue to expand their audiences beyond the country.

Following Kelvyn Boy’s congratulatory remarks, a Stonebwoy song was played at the National Youth Forum, after which Kelvyn Boy delivered his own performance to the excitement of the audience.

His appearance combined entertainment with a message of encouragement for young people attending the forum.

The recognition from Kelvyn Boy also highlights the growing visibility of Ghanaian musicians internationally, with artistes increasingly taking their music to major venues and audiences across the world.

For Stonebwoy, the Wembley performance represents another major milestone in a career that has seen him build a strong international following and position himself among Ghana’s leading dancehall acts.

Is not a shame: Shatta Wale Defends Stonebwoy Over Wembley Curtains Controversy

Published

on

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has waded into the discussion surrounding Stonebwoy’s recent BHIM Fest concert at the OVO Arena Wembley in the United Kingdom.

Stonebwoy held the much-publicised show at the 12,500-capacity venue, drawing a large crowd.

The concert, however, became a subject of online discussion after videos emerged showing curtains covering some sections of the arena.

Some social media users suggested that the curtains were used to conceal unoccupied sections of the venue, sparking debate over the actual attendance and the concert’s success.

But Shatta Wale does not believe the arrangement should be seen as a problem.

Speaking during a live TikTok session on August 18, 2026, the dancehall artiste said he saw nothing wrong with Stonebwoy covering portions of the venue if that was the decision made by his team.

According to him, reducing the usable space in a large arena can be a deliberate event-planning decision and should not automatically be interpreted as a sign of failure.

“It’s not a shame at all. Maybe you want to use the venue to create a profile for yourself. Do you understand me?” Shatta Wale said.

He explained that an artiste could even book a major venue such as the O2 Arena and strategically limit the area being used depending on the expected turnout.

Shatta Wale argued that what matters is how the artiste understands the size of their audience and plans the event accordingly.

He therefore dismissed suggestions that Stonebwoy had done something wrong by having portions of the Wembley arena covered.

“It’s not that Stonebwoy has done anything wrong. He understood his size and arranged the venue in a way that suited him, and that’s exactly what he has done,” he stated.

The comments come despite the long-standing rivalry between the two Ghanaian dancehall stars, making Shatta Wale’s defence of Stonebwoy particularly notable.

Stonebwoy’s Wembley performance has also been viewed as a significant achievement for Ghanaian music, given the international profile of the venue and the scale of the concert.
