Influencer Kwatemaa Andoh Says She Won’t Marry a Poor Man

Published

on

Ghanaian influencer and entrepreneur Kwatemaa Andoh has stated that she has no intention of marrying a man who is financially struggling. According to her, she prefers a partner whose financial status matches or exceeds her own.

Speaking in a video shared on social media on July 8, 2026, Kwatemaa responded to critics who labeled her a “gold digger.” She said she is comfortable with the criticism and believes her standards reflect the reality of the lifestyle she has built for herself.

She explained that she has worked tirelessly to achieve financial independence and does not believe she should lower her expectations when choosing a life partner. In her view, she would rather be called a gold digger than settle for someone who cannot match her ambitions or financial level.

Kwatemaa emphasized that she is only interested in a relationship with someone who is on the same financial level as she is or better. However, she clarified that if her husband were to face financial hardship after they were already married, she would stand by him and support him through the difficult period.

She noted that there is a difference between choosing to marry someone who is already financially unstable and supporting a spouse whose circumstances change after marriage. In the latter case, she believes it is a couple’s responsibility to work together and rebuild.

The entrepreneur added that she enjoys the comfortable lifestyle she has created, including traveling and funding her own experiences. As a result, she has no interest in entering a relationship where she would bear the financial responsibility for both partners.

According to Kwatemaa, she values financial stability and wants a partner who is equally hardworking so they can build a successful life together.

Abu Trica extradited to US to face alleged romance scam and money laundering charges

Published

on

Ghanaian businessman and socialite Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, has been extradited to the United States to face criminal charges related to an alleged romance scam operation targeting elderly victims.

According to JoyNews, Kumi was flown out of Ghana on Thursday morning aboard a Delta Airlines flight DL157 after Ghanaian authorities completed the extradition process.

The move followed unsuccessful legal attempts by his lawyers to stop the transfer. The Accra High Court dismissed an application challenging the extradition order, while a subsequent emergency application seeking to delay his removal also failed to halt the process.

Kumi is wanted by US authorities over allegations that he was involved in a fraud scheme that allegedly used artificial intelligence tools to create fake identities and build online relationships with victims before obtaining money through deception.

He faces charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering.

The socialite was arrested in Ghana on December 11, 2025, during a joint operation involving Ghanaian security agencies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He was later granted bail of GH¢30 million with two sureties to be justified while his legal team challenged the extradition request.

The legal battle intensified after the Accra High Court on July 2, 2026, dismissed an application filed by Kumi’s lawyers seeking to overturn a decision by the Gbese District Court, which had approved the extradition request.

Following the ruling, security officials rearrested Kumi to facilitate his transfer to the United States.

His lawyer, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, had earlier raised concerns about the process, claiming that the defence team had been unable to access Kumi for more than a week and was uncertain about his whereabouts while preparations for the extradition were ongoing.

In a Facebook post after learning about the court’s decision, Barker-Vormawor wrote that the case had been “fast tracked” and suggested that the matter could be taken to the Supreme Court.

The defence team later filed an emergency application on July 3, 2026, arguing that the extradition process had been accelerated without adequate notice. However, the reported transfer suggests the application did not prevent authorities from proceeding.

Kumi’s extradition forms part of a broader crackdown by US authorities on individuals accused of participating in international cybercrime and romance fraud networks.

Other Ghanaian nationals who have faced similar legal actions include Joseph Badu Boateng, popularly known as Dada Joe Remix, and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia4Reall, who was extradited from the United Kingdom in 2023 and later pleaded guilty in the US.

Meanwhile, Kumi’s legal team has filed a separate human rights lawsuit against several institutions, including the Narcotics Control Commission, Economic and Organised Crime Office, Attorney-General’s Department and the FBI, alleging violations of his rights during his arrest.

It remains unclear how the extradition will affect the progress of that separate legal action.

Watching KiDi on Hitmaker Inspired My Journey:Kuami Eugene

Published

on

Award-winning Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has revealed that watching fellow artist KiDi compete on the reality music show Hitmaker inspired him to pursue a music career and eventually audition for the competition.

In an interview with Headless YouTuber, Kuami Eugene shared that his journey began after he met Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Entertainment, while assisting fellow Hitmaker contestant Gunshot with music recordings since Richie was Gunshot’s producer, the two crossed paths in the studio.

Kuami recalled that Richie noticed his musical talent after hearing him contribute ideas during recording sessions. When Richie asked why he had not entered Hitmaker, Kuami explained that he was still preparing and hoped to audition the following year.

During that period, Kuami closely followed KiDi’s performances on Hitmaker. He remembered seeing KiDi perform with confidence and believing he would eventually win the competition. Inspired by what he witnessed, Kuami promised himself that he would also perform on that same stage one day.

According to Kuami Eugene, KiDi stood out because of his strong support system and industry exposure through Lynx Entertainment. He believed those advantages gave KiDi an edge over the other contestants, who largely competed without similar backing.

When Kuami eventually auditioned for Hitmaker the following year, Richie Mensah recognised him from their earlier meeting and recommended him to renowned producer Kaywa. That opportunity became an important step in launching Kuami Eugene’s successful music career.
