Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi has terminated the contract of Ghanaian striker Albert Amoah, just three months after signing him from Asante Kotoko.

The club is offering Amoah $30,000 in compensation, equivalent to three months of his salary.

The decision comes as a surprise, given Amoah’s promising start at Kotoko, where he scored five goals across all competitions in the ongoing season.

Amoah, joined Al Ahly Benghazi with high expectations, but his stint in Libya has been cut short, following slow performance.

He has since returned to Kotoko on loan for the remainder of the season and has already scored a goal on his return.

The termination adds to a growing list of Ghanaian players experiencing short-lived tenures abroad, highlighting the challenges of adapting to new leagues and environments.

Amoah is now expected to make a decision to either make his stay at Kototo or will move out of the club after his loan spell at the end of the season.
