Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is set to return to Kumasi with the 2026 edition of his highly anticipated Rapperholic concert.

Dubbed “Rapperholic26,” the event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The announcement comes after the success of the 2025 edition, which was held in the Ashanti Regional capital under the theme “Rapperholic: The Homecoming.”

Last year’s concert marked a significant moment for Sarkodie, as it symbolised his return to Kumasi, the city where he grew up and began building his music career.

Following the strong reception to the homecoming edition, Sarkodie has decided to keep the concert in Kumasi for a second consecutive year, once again choosing the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as the venue.

Rapperholic26 is expected to draw thousands of music fans from across the country for another major celebration of Sarkodie’s music and career.

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has rejected claims that she does not support female artistes, pointing to her long history of collaborations with women in the music industry.

The award-winning singer said she has worked with several female artistes over the years but questioned why many of the songs have not received the level of promotion she expected.

“I don’t feature female artists, which is also a lie, because check the female artists in Nigeria. I’ve done the most features with other females.”

Tiwa Savage questioned the role of industry gatekeepers in promoting songs involving female artistes, saying the lack of support can discourage further collaborations.

“Where are these gatekeepers? Why are they not promoting it? Why are people not promoting it?”

She mentioned some of the female artistes she has collaborated with, including Waje, Simi, Efya, Becca and Ayra Starr.

“When I did a song with Simi, a song with Efya, a song with Becca, I have a song with Ayra, the list goes on. Like, where are those songs?”

According to Tiwa, she has continued to collaborate with women despite the limited attention some of the projects receive.

“So how are you not going to encourage me to do more?”

The singer also addressed perceptions that she does not support other female artistes, explaining that she has deliberately used her platform to create opportunities for them.

She recalled inviting Yemi Alade to perform at one of her concerts after noticing that comparisons between the two artistes were beginning to emerge.

“When I did my concert, I pulled out Yemi Alade, because I saw that that comparison was starting to build.”

Tiwa Savage said she personally reached out to Yemi Alade because she wanted to prevent such comparisons from creating unnecessary tension.

She also cited her relationship with Ayra Starr, saying she has made similar efforts to support her.

“That’s the same thing I’ve done with Ayra, because I’m noticing that and I love Ayra.”

Tiwa Savage maintained that there are numerous examples of her supporting and collaborating with female artistes, despite claims to the contrary.

“So I do try. Repeatedly, there are so many examples that I could go on and on about.”

She said she often finds herself facing criticism regardless of the steps she takes.

“You’re damned if you do, you’re damned if you don’t, because somebody will still say… Somebody will always have something to say.”

Tiwa maintained that her catalogue and history of collaborations speak for themselves, insisting that she has repeatedly demonstrated her willingness to work with and uplift other female artistes.

Veteran Kumawood actor Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has recounted how years of filming under powerful studio lights affected his eyesight.

The actor disclosed that his vision became blurry at a point during his acting career, forcing him to seek medical attention.

Speaking on Lawson TV on August 23, 2026, Agya Koo said he began noticing changes in his eyesight after spending long hours on movie sets exposed to intense lighting.

“I acted in movies till it got to a point where I saw things blurry. My vision was deteriorating because of the lighting we used to film,” he said.

According to him, he visited a hospital after becoming concerned about the condition. Following an examination, doctors reportedly found no problem with his eyes but advised him to reduce or carefully manage his exposure to the powerful lights used during productions.

“I went to the hospital, and I was asked to read some things. After reading, the doctor told me that nothing was wrong with my eyes. I was advised to be careful of the lighting we use to work,” he recalled.

Agya Koo also used the interview to set the record straight about claims concerning his earnings during his time in the Kumawood industry.

He disclosed that he received about GH¢4,000 while he was based in Accra and working on movie productions, but stressed that the money was not a fixed fee he charged Miracle Films.

“When I was staying in Accra, I was being paid GH¢4,000. I didn’t get that money from Miracle Films, and I wasn’t even charging them,” he explained.

The actor said he did not negotiate a specific amount for the movies he made with Miracle Films. Instead, he claimed the producer decided what to give him after each production.

“All the movies I acted in, I didn’t charge Miracle Films, so when we were done, he would just give me the amount he had,” he stated.

Agya Koo further revealed that he featured in about seven or eight movies during that period, with some productions being filmed consecutively.

He said the demanding schedule, coupled with travelling from Accra to different filming locations, became stressful and prompted him to request an advance on money owed to him so he could purchase a vehicle.

“There were some seven to eight movies I was featured in, and I worked back to back. I had to tell him that because I was coming from Accra, I was getting stressed, so the money he was supposed to pay, he should lend me so that I could use it to get a small car to use,” he said.

According to the actor, a car was eventually acquired for approximately GH¢4,500, making transportation to movie locations easier.

“We got the car for around GH¢4,500, and I started using it to go to movie locations,” he added.

Agya Koo also rejected claims that he commanded fees of GH¢10,000, GH¢20,000 or GH¢50,000 per movie during his prime.

He questioned the basis of such reports, asking which producer at the time would have been able to pay him those amounts.

“I heard some people saying I used to take GH¢10,000, GH¢20,000 and GH¢50,000, but which producer was giving me that amount?” he asked.

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her decision to freeze some of her eggs, revealing that she wants to keep the possibility of having more children in the future.

The award-winning singer, who is already a mother, shared the revelation in a video posted on social media while speaking about fertility preservation.

Tiwa said she decided because she wants to have more children but also understands that fertility can change with age.

She encouraged women to learn more about egg freezing and consider fertility preservation from around the age of 30.

According to the singer, many women are unaware that they are born with a limited number of eggs and that the number and quality of eggs can decline over time.

Tiwa said the experiences of two close friends also played a major role in her decision.

She explained that one of her friends later wanted children but struggled to conceive and eventually wished she had frozen her eggs earlier.

The singer also shared the story of another friend who had frozen her eggs before being diagnosed with cancer.

Her friend later underwent chemotherapy, but the preserved eggs allowed her to retain the possibility of having children after treatment.

Tiwa said the experiences made her more conscious of the importance of planning when it comes to fertility.

However, she expressed concern about the high cost of egg freezing, arguing that the procedure should be made more affordable.

She believes reducing the cost would allow more women to access fertility preservation and make informed decisions about when they want to start or expand their families.

Shatta Wale has dismissed the long-standing perception that he and Stonebwoy are sworn rivals, saying the relationship between the two dancehall stars is far less hostile than the public often assumes.

The “On God” hitmaker clarified during a recent TikTok Live session, where he challenged the idea that he and Stonebwoy cannot stand each other.

According to Shatta Wale, the two musicians now live in the same area, just about two minutes apart, making the constant description of Stonebwoy as his enemy difficult to understand.

“If Stonebwoy were my enemy, I wouldn’t live in the same area with him,” Shatta Wale said.

He explained that Stonebwoy no longer lives in Ashaiman, while he himself has also moved away from the ghetto. Despite their different backgrounds and the years of rivalry associated with their names, they have ended up living close to each other.

Shatta Wale disclosed that he regularly passes in front of Stonebwoy’s house whenever he is going out.

He questioned why people continue to portray the two as enemies when they are able to live within such proximity without the kind of confrontation that would normally be expected between people involved in a genuine feud.

The dancehall artiste also accused sections of the media and entertainment industry of contributing to the perception that there is serious animosity between him and Stonebwoy.

He argued that constant coverage of their supposed rivalry has influenced fans to believe there is a deep personal conflict between the two.

“The media has brainwashed you too much,” Shatta Wale said, suggesting that the public has been exposed to one-sided narratives about the relationship between the two artistes.

He further pointed to their difficult backgrounds, recalling that Stonebwoy once lived in Ashaiman while he grew up in Lartebiokorshie Zongo.

Shatta Wale said both artistes have experienced hardship on their respective journeys and worked their way into prominent positions within Ghana’s music industry.

He therefore urged fans to look beyond the rivalry narrative and recognise the progress both musicians have made.

While Shatta Wale admitted that he enjoys teasing Stonebwoy from time to time, he cautioned supporters against turning such exchanges into serious personal disputes.

“I just like teasing, but nobody should go personal,” he said, calling for actions and conversations that would contribute to a healthier music industry.

He also stressed that if the two were genuinely enemies, they would not be comfortable living just minutes away from each other or repeatedly crossing paths.

“If we were rivals, then we can’t live two minutes away from each other,” he added.
