Nations FC confirms the departure of striker Ebenezer Offei to Nico United FC in Botswana

Nations Football Club have confirmed the departure of forward Ebenezer Offei as he moves to Nico United FC in the Botswana Premier League.

The young striker left Abrankese-based side after reaching an agreement with the Botswanan club, bringing his time at Nations FC to an end.

The club expressed appreciation for Offei’s contributions and wished him success in the next stage of his career.

Offei played an outstanding role in Nations FC’s attack with am impressive performance with his goalscoring ability

His outstanding performance landed him a deal in Botswana.

“This is a big opportunity for me to grow and prove myself in a different environment,” Offei told the club’s media team.

The move marks a significant step for the 22-year-old as he seeks new challenges and broader exposure in Southern African football.

 

Teammates and supporters have highlighted his professionalism and dedication during his time at Nations FC, describing him as a role model on and off the pitch.

Spanish side Atlético Madrid eyes to sign Kudus Mohammed from Tottenham Hotspur in Summer

Spanish giants Atlético Madrid are reportedly pushing to secure the services of Mohammed Kudus from Tottenham Hotspur, despite the midfielder joining the Premier League side only last summer.

According to British outlet TopSkills Sports UK, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder’s camp are already in advanced negotiations with the Spanish club on a four-and-a-half-year contract ahead of a potential summer move.

The report indicates that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with Atlético Madrid keen to strengthen their attacking midfield options by bringing the Ghanaian international to the Metropolitano Stadium.

However, the Spanish side are reportedly hoping to secure the deal at a reduced transfer fee if Tottenham were to suffer relegation at the end of the season.

Kudus has made 26 appearances for Spurs in all competitions during the 2025/26 season, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

The mercurial playmaker is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but is expected to return to action next month.

Ghana U-17 Defeats Samartex 1996 Youth side in double header friendlies

The Ghana national U-17 team has defeated  Samartex in a friendly double-header at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex, as part of their preparations for the upcoming Africa U-17 Cup of Nations tournament.

 

In the first match played on Saturday, March 14, the Black Starlets delivered a commanding performance to thrash Samartex’s second team 6-0, showing their attacking strength and dominance throughout the encounter.

 

The national U-17 side returned to action again on Sunday, March 15, for the second fixture, this time facing the senior team of Samartex, where they secured a narrow 1-0 victory to complete the double over the 2024 Ghana Premier League champions.

 

Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his assistant Nana Kweku Agyemang used the matches as part of their training programme to further assess the squad while working on areas that need improvement before the commencement of the highly-anticipated tournament.

 

The friendlies add to the team’s recent encouraging run in Accra, where the Black Starlets recorded victories over Attram De Visser Academy, Semper Fi FC, and Port City FC.

 

The Black Starlets has return to the Continental competition after almost nine-year absence, remain fully focused in camp as they aim to deliver a strong performance in Morocco and secure qualification for the next FIFA U-17 World Cup.

MTN FA Cup: Dreams, Aduana, Medeama and Nations FC secures Semi Finals Spot

The quarter-final stage of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup delivered drama and exciting moments as four teams secured places in the semi-finals after matches played at the Cape Coast Stadium and Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park across Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, Aduana FC produced a dominant display to defeat Techiman Liberty Youth FC 3-0. The ‘Fire Boys’ took the lead in the 38th minute through Burkinabe forward Daouda Sedibe, heading into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

Captain Alex Boakye missed a penalty earlier in the match but later made amends with a fine header in the 81st minute to double the lead. Emmanuel Marfo then wrapped up the victory with a late strike to seal a convincing win.

Sunday’s action saw Dreams FC edge past Heart of Lions 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw through regulation and extra time. Seedorf Asante opened the scoring with a close-range finish to give Lions the lead before Suraj Seidu curled home a late equaliser to force the game to extra time.

In the other quarter-final, Nations FC and Berekum Chelsea played out a goalless draw after both regulation and extra time. Nations FC eventually prevailed 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the last four.

At the Cape Coast Stadium, Medeama SC defeated Attram De Visser Academy 3-0, thanks to an extra-time hat-trick from Kelvin Nkrumah. Despite the convincing scoreline, the match proved far more difficult for the Premier League side than the result suggests.
