In a heartfelt conversation with Doreen Avio, Ghanaian highlife artist Kwabena Kwabena, renowned for his soulful melodies, shared the moving story behind his latest EP, God of Restoration. This seven-track collection is more than just music; it’s a deeply personal testament to his journey of faith, resilience, and divine restoration.

Kwabena Kwabena revealed that the EP was inspired by a covenant he made with God during one of the darkest periods of his life. Struggling with depression and life’s many challenges, he found refuge in his faith. “I was depressed for the past few years, and it’s been God who saw me through,” he confessed. In a moment of desperation, he made a promise to dedicate his seventh studio project to God if he overcame his struggles. God of Restoration is the fulfilment of that promise.

He expressed deep gratitude to his mother, whose unwavering support served as a beacon of hope. “My mother encouraged me to be a better person and get closer to God,” he shared, acknowledging the pivotal role she has played in his transformation. He also extended heartfelt thanks to his team for their dedication in bringing the EP to life.

During the production phase, Kwabena reached out to several gospel artists for collaborations. While some responded with warmth, one encounter stood out. “I was disrespected by one of the gospel artists I reached out to,” he revealed. Though the experience was disheartening, he considers it a valuable lesson and remains grateful for the opportunity to grow through it.

Beyond music, Kwabena Kwabena continues to invest in his personal development. He is currently pursuing a degree in Marketing at the University of Professional Studies, a reflection of his commitment to growth. Additionally, his background in construction adds yet another layer to his multifaceted personality.

With God of Restoration, Kwabena Kwabena offers not just songs but a powerful message of faith, endurance, and the healing power of purpose.
