Joselyn Dumas not appointed to any position – Felix Kwakye Ofosu clarifies

Published

on

The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has disputed reports suggesting that actress Joselyn Dumas has earned an appointment in John Mahama’s government.

This comes after news shared on various media platforms on March 2, 2025 that the film maker had been appointed as the Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President.

In a chat with myjoyonline.com Felix said he could confirm the appointments of all other creative arts personalities to various positions in government except Joselyn’s.

“Miss Dumas has not been appointed to any such position. I can confirm that of the rest,” he told Myjoyonline.com.

In the past few weeks, Kofi Okyere Darko was appointed as Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, Rex Omar earned a position as Coordinator of Blackstar Experience, Abeiku Santana as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Kafui Danku as Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority and James Gardiner as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority.

These appointments, confirmed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, were not announced on the official social media handles of the Presidency or the Minister of Government’s Communications, a situation that raised doubts among some people.

They were made by either the media through their verifiable sources or close friends of the appointees just as Joselyn Dumas.

When the announcement of Joselyn’s appointment went viral on social media some social media users expressed anger suggesting that she was not a member of the party.

“This should be fake news or it will annoy the grassroots paaa. Hmmmmmmmm,” Quanta Masahudu posted on Facebook.

Salifu Mohammed Rabui also wrote: “This appointment nkoaa dier, daabi daabi. People worked so hard to win you power and these are the people you reward with appointment. Disappointing!”

Another comment by Raphael Ankonam says “Why Bridget Otoo not get appointment as at now ahhh. This one di3 ahhh Mr. President. I called you 2 John, please don’t made mistake to appoint anybody just like that oo, me I said my own. Because “nia obr3 na odie, na 3ny3 nia 3k)m di no”.”
