Reggae-Dancehall Artist Akler

Rising Ghanaian Reggae-Dancehall artist Akler has released a soul-stirring new single titled “Amele”, a song deeply inspired by her life’s journey as a female artist navigating the music industry.

In an exclusive interview with Mr. Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kessben Entertainment, Akler opened up about the experiences that shaped both her life and her music. She revealed that at just 17 years old, she left her home in Ghana for Nigeria in pursuit of her musical dreams. Starting with live band performances at various events, her journey was not without peril at one point, she narrowly escaped becoming a victim of human trafficking.

Reflecting on her experiences, Akler used the platform to advise young women to focus on empowering themselves and to be cautious about the company they keep. “Stay away from bad friends so you can leave a good legacy for the next generation,” she urged

Akler also called on Ghanaians to support her by recommending her songs and streaming them on all digital platforms under the handle @Aklermusic. She revealed that she currently has about 12 songs recorded, all produced under Tubhani Records, led by her manager, Mr. Nathaniel Amakye.

During the interview, Akler paid tribute to her father, affectionately known as Daddy Bossoco, crediting him as a major inspiration in her career and acknowledging his influence on both her and other Dancehall artists, from the genre’s legends to its current stars.

Aklera emphasised that her music is deeply spiritual, reflecting her connection to both life’s struggles and triumphs. With her powerful voice and inspiring story, she is poised to make a lasting impact on Ghana’s music scene and beyond.
